The Sandy Springs Tennis Center is one of the finest tennis facilities in the northern Atlanta metro area. The tennis center is a public facility owned by the City of Sandy Springs. It is close to the Perimeter Mall area and convenient for players in northern Fulton, northern DeKalb, and eastern Cobb Counties.

Tennis Magazine has rated the Sandy Springs Tennis Center as one of the finest public facilities in the country. There are 24 outdoor lighted courts for play. Twenty courts are hard surface and four courts are clay. The center also has a clubhouse, locker rooms with shower facilities, a club room, and a jogging trail. The fully stocked pro shop offers a large selection of equipment and tennis apparel.

Several tennis pros are on staff at the Sandy Springs Tennis Center to offer lessons and coaching. Private and semi-private lessons are available. The tennis center offers instructional programs for adults, juniors, and children at all ability levels. Beginning players can learn the basics and more advanced players can receive drills and instruction at their level. Ball machine rentals are also available for hitting practice.

The Sandy Springs Tennis Center has more than 130 USTA and ALTA (Atlanta Lawn Tennis Association) teams at all levels. Throughout the year the center hosts a number of USTA sanctioned tournaments. Visitors to the Atlanta area are welcome to come to the tennis center and pick up a casual game. A Mixed Doubles Round Robin event is held on Friday evenings from 7-9pm. Players should call during the day Friday to sign up. The Sunday morning Mens Round Robin is a walk on event. No advanced sign up is necessary. Players just show up ready to play. Arrange A Match is the centers online tool that lets players find a suitable partner. Prospective players list their skill level and their days and times of availability.

Courts may be reserved up to three days in advance of a match. Court fees are charged per individual player. Fees on weekdays from 8:30am-6pm are $3.50 for 1 hour, $5 for 1.5 hours, and $6 for 2 hours of court time. Week nights after 6pm and weekends are $4 for 1 hour, $6 for 1.5 hours, and $7 for 2 hours of time.

The Sandy Springs Tennis Center is located just outside the perimeter at 500 Abernathy Road in Sandy Springs. The center is open Monday through Thursday from 8:30am-10pm. Friday hours are from 8:30am-9pm. Saturday and Sunday hours are 8:30am-7pm. Visitors to the area who are looking for a tennis game should stop by this excellent public tennis facility.
